National disaster in the north of Israel -Where were you Eli Yishai?
This is not how we imagined Hanukkah. The festival of Lights have turned into a wildfire that destroyed one of the most beautiful areas in Israel. The wildfire erupted two days ago in a wooded area in the Druze town of Usfiya, which located in the Carmel in the Carmel mountain .
The green forests of the Carmel had no chance against the walls of glames. People have lost their lives, wild animals died in their natural habitant and more than 4 million trees were burned.
Israel wasn’t prepared for this. I can’t help of asking why? Why were we caught so unprepared?In the mean time, the minister of interior affairs, Eli Yishai, doesn’t provide good answers. This issue was under the direct responsibility of Eli Yishai. Seems like Eli Yishai has some more serious concerns than making sure that the state of Israel would be able to deal with such events. Many voices in Israel demand that Eli Yishai resigns from office.
A little preparation might have saved us from one of the worst ecological disasters we have ever known.
